The Lambton Jr Sting AAA Hockey Association announces that as of the 2010-2011 season, tryouts for teams (minor atom to minor midget) will take place in the spring of 2010. Tryouts will commence in mid to late April with the selection of teams to be completed by early May.
The process for coaching recruitment and selection has been advanced into January 2010 as a result. Coaching applications will be due January 16, 2010. Complete applications will include valid and current (within past month) police check, supporting documentation regarding Speak Out accreditation, coaching certification, written references, as well as written confirmation of the applicant’s understanding of and compliance with the Coach’s Code of Conduct.
Coaching interviews will be conducted in February and coaching selection will be ratified at the Annual General Meeting in March. Please visit the Lambton Jr Sting AAA website at lambtonjrsting.ca for details, application information and timelines.
Lambton County Minor Sports operates as The Lambton Jr Sting AAA Association. The Association and its volunteers are dedicated to:
• Providing a positive and competitive minor hockey development program.
• Putting the healthy personal development of each player at the forefront.
• Enhancing the positive values of hockey by providing coaching role models who demonstrate leadership, strong work ethic, and community pride with the goal of developing strong future leaders based on their example.
• Supporting coaches, officials, and volunteers by providing ongoing training and access to information.
• Supporting the mandate of Hockey Canada by working with other hockey centres, Alliance Hockey and the Ontario Hockey Federation to promote and grow minor hockey in Lambton County
The change in the tryout timing will enable our teams to dedicate time throughout the summer months toward greater player and team development. In this way we will continue to provide a positive hockey experience for every participant in our system through delivery of excellence in hockey programming and the application of our policies, procedures and constitution.
