Minor Atom '00 - Sting Beat Huron Perth to Become Alliance Consolation Champions

This past Saturday the minor atom AAA Lambton Jr Sting hosted the Huron-Perth Lakers for game 3 of of the 6 point series. The Sting were up 4 points leading up to the game and were anxious to win at home and end the series.

Please note that due to March break we will be moving our next Executive meeting to Tuesday March 23 at 7pm.  Operating Committee meeting for teams will follow at 8pm on the 23rd.

Acceleration Policy Re: 2010-2011 Season
Please note:
To receive permission to try out for the next higher age division, a formal request from the parents/guardians of the player must be presented to the Executive prior to the Lambton AAA Executive meeting held in the month before the commencement of tryouts. A committee selected by the President and First Vice President (unless they are in conflict) shall determine if the player is “Qualified by Ability”.

So, any player wishing to accelerate must submit a letter to the executive before the meeting this month.

The Jr. Sting hosted EMC on Saturday at noon after the game scheduled for Friday in Glencoe was cancelled. The Jr. Sting wanted to take advantage of getting the first game at home.

To be a defenseman, Alec T. says you have to do these things every game, "Stand' em up, shut' em down, keep' em out and do it again." When goalie Cole D. was asked for his comments, his response was "Alec KNOWS what he's talking about!" Wise words from our "youngest" (leap year) player!! One more win to go team to end this season on a very positive note. Players, parents and coaches, keep the PUMP UP going, let's finish this series on Saturday and go for a team celebration!

Minor Bantam '96 - Minor Bantams knocked out of Playoffs by Waterloo

Cornel Felder, played outstanding in both games for his team this weekend vs Waterloo. We went into Waterloo and lost a very close game 2-1 with one minute left on the clock they scored their second goal. The boys efforts was solid we just didn't put the puck in the net when we had our chances. Our second game we lost 4-0 at home in a game that seemed much closer than the score. We had our chances and didn't score they had their chances and did score. I would like to say that this coaching staff was very impressed with the way this team showed improved discipline through the playoffs allowing us to be in every game to the end. I would also like to say that this group of boys was written off from the very start of the season and that week by week they grew into a team that could compete and win over the last two months. We started with nine new players and had to add a goalie part way through the season. We were shorthanded the whole season with little help when we needed players. We had natural forwards playing defence and defencman who started playing forward. We gave up allot of size compaired to the other teams who's players have been together for many years with little if any turnover of players from year to year. In the end we found a way to compete against all the teams who destoyed us at the start of the season and even beat a few of them. I am very proud of this group of underdog players and I would be honoured if asked to coach them again. If I'm not asked I would like to thank the parents for all the efforts you put forth bringing the boys to the rink. To the Boys I am very proud of how you have grown this year!!!

Comments from our forwards for the upcoming game in our series come from Nolan F. who is looking to make great passes and play hard as a team. Lucas R. certainly put his money where his mouth is when he stated, "Huron Perth can work hard, but I am going to work harder, so BRING IT ON!" Clearly Lucas was in this frame of mind for Saturdays' game scoing two goals, one a high pressure penalty shot to tie the game. Curtis M. takes lighter approach to the team and sums up his efforts as follows, "Shoot left, shoot right, look up, don't frown, skate hard and PASS THE PUCK." Coaches, family and friends, keep the noise going, PUMP UP THIS TEAM for our road trip and bring our game to Huron Perth!

Joe C. and Ben A., two of our Sting Blueliners are ready for the next round of consellation playoffs. Both Joe and Ben are looking to shoot the puck hard, hold the blue line, and dig for the puck. Joe added he will continue to skate hard and Ben wants Huron Perth to know he is on the ice!! Way to go Defense and Good luck Sting!!
