Major Peewees Capture Their First Tournament Win - Congratulations!

The ’05 Lambton Jr. Sting “AAA” Major Pee Wee’s travelled to Rochester NY and won the Monarch AAA Battle Royale Tournament, going a perfect 6 wins and 0 losses!

The tournament featured 12 Major Pee AAA teams from New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Ontario.  The Sting were 5- 0 in round robin play earning them a spot in the Championship game vs Brantford.



The Sting hung on to a 4-3 win in a penalty filled affair versus the Brantford 99’s in the Championship game.  Jordon Bax led the attack with 2 goals, including a third period penalty shot. Jaxon Priddle and Jace McGrail picked up single markers.  Assists went to Adam Maitland, Isaac Oliphant and Bax.  Caiden Smit was solid in net for the win.

 

Round Robin Play saw the sting win 5 straight games.  Game 1 was a 6-2 win over the Seneca Wings.  Goal Scorers included Jaxon Priddle (2x), Isaac Oliphant, Jordan Bax, Aron Shanks and Ryan Pageau.  Assists went to Jace McGrail, Jordan Bax (2x), Jaxon Priddle, Sara Gardner, Adam Maitland, Joaquin Gonzalez (2x) and Aron Shanks.  Joe Malinowski picked up the win.

 

Game 2 was a close 2-1 victory over North Central Predators.  Aron Shanks and Jaxon Priddle each scored with Ryan Vidler, Isaac Oliphant and Jace McGrail picking up assists.  Caiden Smit was strong in net.

 

The Sting had a huge offensive outburst in Game 3 vs the Cleveland Barons.  Goal Scorers included; Tanner Winegard, Aron Shanks (2x), Ryan Vidler, Ryan Pageau, Jaxon Priddle (2x) and Jordan Bax.  Assists went to Tanner Winegard (2x), Ryan Pageau (2x), Jordan Bax, Jace McGrail, Aron Shanks and Isaac Oliphant.  Joe Malinowski picked up his second win of the tournament in net.

 

Caiden Smit led the Sting versus the Wheatfield Blades with a Shutout in Game 4 and 3-0 victory.  Ryan Pageau, Jaxon Priddle and Joaquin Gonzalez scored.  Assists went to Tanner Winegard, Joaquin Gonzalez and Aaron Shanks.

 

Game 5 was essentially a semifinal game as both teams were undefeated and the winner would advance to the Championship.  Joe Malinowski was rock solid in net as Aron Shanks sealed the deal with an empty net goal and a 4 – 2 victory.  Jaxon Priddle was an offensive terror with a hat trick.  Luke Doan picked up the lone assist.
