The Lambton Jr.
Sting AAA organization is pleased to announce that Minor Midget coach Brad
Riley is the winner of the Coach of the Year award for the 2019/20
season.
The Minor Midget team had a successful league
and tournament season and qualified for the Alliance playdowns where they were
matched up against the 1st place and undefeated Elgin Middlesex
Chiefs.
In playdowns, they gave the Chiefs their first 2 Alliance losses of the season before losing in a 5-game hard fought series. Lambton Jr. Sting Minor Midget also made the finals of the Waterloo Gold Puck Tournament.
In addition, at the 2020 OHL Priority Selection Draft in April, four players from his Minor Midget team were chosen.
Brad’s staff included Paul Hurtubise, Craig Musico, Mark Phillips, Bastien Dufour, Jason Hoover, Scotty Gray and Johnny Maniuk.
Well done Brad!
Brads message....
I was notified by the Lambton AAA Association that I have won the Coach of the Year Award. It's an honor to be chosen for this award, especially when there are so many great coaches in the Lambton Organization who are deserving of this award as well.
I truly believe that you're only as good as the people you surround yourself with. With that being said the first person I would like to thank is my amazing wife Dawn, if it wasn't for her support, commitment, involvement and her understanding of a hockey coach, she probably would have divorced me a long time ago. My coaching staff of Paul Hurtubise, Craig Musico, Mark Phillips, Bastien Dufour, Jason Hoover, Scotty Gray and Johnny Maniuk are all a great supporting cast and are also recipients of this award as well. Great job guys, thank you. I would also like to thank Scott Jones (coaches mentor and skills coach), Mark Glavin(team rep) Chris Knowles(video and Hudl support) Tina van de Ven (parent rep), the Lambton Minor Midget AAA 04 Team and parent group, the Lambton AAA Executives and board members for all your support and confidence. What a Great Team! Thank you all.
Yours Truly,
Brad Riley
