Lambton Minor PeeWee's Complete Regular Season Play
The Jr Sting team took to the road to finish up their regular season games with trips to London and Windsor over the weekend. The London trip resulted in a 5-2 loss to the Jr Knights and game in Windsor ended in a 5-5 draw with the Jr Spitfires.
In the loss to the Jr Knights, the Jr Sting worked hard and were close till the final two minutes when the home team would score two to seal the game. The Lambton squad had the unfortunate luck being selected to play half the game shorthanded......an event that served London and their powerplay practice quite well. Scoring were Brock Perry and Isaac McLean with assists to Alec Dekoning, McLean and Dawson Vautour.
In a game to add to the 'one-that-got-away' tally the Jr Sting lead the Jr Spitfires by two goals with under thirty seconds to play, only to fall asleep and give up the needed tallies to an excited, but eliminated from playdowns, Windsor squad. Lambton lead for most of the game and was powered on offense by the following goal scorers: Jake Burnard with 2 and singles to Perry, McLean and Franco Sproviero. Assists went to McLean and Colin Leyten with 2, singles to Ethan Dupont and Logan Scott. Kaden Fulcher was solid in net to salvage the tie.
Lambton will now spend the week preparing for its first round playdown match-up against the London Jr Knights - Gold.
