Lambton Major atoms advance to semi finals beating London 3-0 in their home tournament!

The Major atom team from Lambton should be very proud of the effort displayed last weekend in London as we had rock solid goaltending, excellent defense and equal contribution with goals and assists from all of the forwards.

Lambton lead the way with Josh Bayne having an excellent game between the pipes and handing Oshawa a 3-1 loss.   Lucas Knowles and Gage Langford were 2 of our steady defenceman holding the Oshawa team to only 1 goal.   Joe Ferrera and Carson Payne both had a goal and an assist.  Kyle Blunt had 2 assists.  Nolan Farr added a goal with assists going to Cameron Rombouts and Dante Fuoco.

Next came a tougher game with St Catherines but the Sting pulled out a great 4-3 win.  Joe Correia had a goal while his defence partner Alec Trusler added an assist on that goal to open the scoring.  Cameron Adam had a goal and an assist while line mate Theo Crombeen had 2 assists and Josh Vale added the other goal for that line.  Cameron Rombouts added to the scoring assisted by Dante Fuoco.

Our third game turned out to be of no value as we would have to beat London in the next game to advance.  Lambton lost 4-1 with the lone goal going to Kyle Blunt, assisted by Theo Crombeen and Dante Fuoco.

Our last preliminary game turned out to be the kid’s best game of the year handing home town London a 3-0 loss and allowing Lambton to advance to the semis.  Jakob Knowles posted a shutout with his best effort of the year.  Duncan Core and Ben Arthurs had a great game on defense and each posted an assist to help with the scoring.  We had 1 goal from each forward line and excellent play from every member of our defense as well.  Josh Vale scored our first goal assisted by Theo Crombeen and Gage Langford.   Cameron Rombouts scored our second goal assisted by Duncan Core.    Our last nail in the coffin was scored by Carson Payne assisted by Ben Arthurs.   Great job boys on this very sweet victory.

The semi final game against the Toronto Titans was a disappointing but very tight 3-2 loss.  Toronto had lots to be thankful for as the refs handed Lambton 12 penalties and Toronto 6.  Not a good job by the guys in the stripes but Lambton refused to give up and played very well short handed.   Dante Fuoco had both goals with assists going to Gage Langford and Nolan Farr.

On behalf of the entire coaching staff, we are very proud of how these guys play hockey and they are learning more and more as the season progresses.   Great job boys and great things lie ahead for this wild bunch from Lambton.
