Alliance Playoffs Finals Game #6 vs. Hamilton Reps
The Jr. Sting were at home for the final game of the series and the year against the Hamilton Reps. The series has been very even throughout with both teams carrying the play at times. Saturday’s game had all the makings of a classic. The winner would be going home as the Alliance Playoff Champion.

The Jr. Sting and Hamilton both started tentative with neither team wanting to give the other any advantage. The play started to pick up with Hamilton forcing the play and Ethan Hunt in the Lambton net was forced to make a number of good saves. The period ended a draw at 0-0.
The second period saw more of the same with Lambton on their heels and Hunt continuing to play well between the pipes. Both teams had power play opportunities but neither team was able to solve the opposing goalie and the second period ended with still no scoring.
The third period saw Lambton pick up the pace of play and start to generate some scoring chances. It looked as though the refs had put their whistles away for the game as a few questionable hits; hooks and trips were let go, until a Jr. Sting player was given a penalty. This seemed to lift the spirit of the Reps and at 5:01 of the third they were able to slide home a long wrister that eluded a screened Hunt in the Jr. Sting net. Lambton regrouped and were forcing the play when they were awarded a power play with 4:32 to go. The Jr. Sting took a time-out and set-up their plan for the PP, a number of good chances were generated but each and everyone was turned aside by the Reps goalie.
It was down to the final two minutes and once the clock wound down to one minute the Jr. Sting removed Hunt in favour of an extra attacker but Lambton was not able to jam one in and Hamilton hung on for the victory and the Alliance Playoff Championship 1-0.

Ethan Hunt was great in net and gave Lambton a chance for the victory.

It was a good year for the team. Well done players, coaches, training staff and managers. A special thanks, to the parents, family and friends who came out to support the team throughout the course of the year.
