STING FALL SHORT AGAINST LONDON
The Lambton Sting Major Atoms fell 7-3 to the London Knights in Alliance league play dropping their overall record on the season to 5-6-1.

Josh McLean got the Sting off to a great start as he scored just 47 seconds in to the game. Dylan Riddell and Brandon Neelin picked up assists on the play. However, London responded with 3 goals of their own to take a 3-1 lead following the opening 15 minutes.

The Sting continued to battle in the second period and took advantage when London was short two men. Riddell would bang home the rebound after a hard point shot from Jaycob White to cut the London lead to one goal. Ryan Barwitzki also earned an assist on the play. After London restored the 2 goal lead the Sting battled back thanks to some strong forechecking from the line of Carson Perry, Cameron Ware and Hunter Monkhouse. Monkhouse would get the goal with his linemates drawing assists to make the score 4-3 midway through the period.

The Sting just missed on a couple of chances to tie the game as the second period began to wind down. However, London would take full control of the game with 2 goals in the final 26 seconds of the period including one with just 1 second remaining.

Suddenly down 6-3 entering the third period the Sting failed to take advantage of several powerplay opportunities and would fall by a 7-3 count.
