Jr. Sting Tie Cyclones
On
the road Friday night in Wheatley the Lambton Jr. Sting Minor Atom broke the
losing streak with a tie against the Chatham Kent Cyclones 3 -3.
The Sting came out strong and it showed with an early goal by Blake Butler with the assists going to Kaleb Edlington and Cole Brydges. The score at the end of the first period was 1 – 0. It didn’t take long into the second when Chatham came back and scored tying the game, Chatham then pulled ahead as they scored a shorthanded goal but that didn’t rattle Ethan Langford who was spectacular in net. Blake Butler got his 2nd goal of the night with assists from Cole Brydges and Kaleb Edlington which tied the game and the Sting were back in it. Struggling in the 3rd with penalties the Sting were able to stay strong and hold the game 2 – 2 until Evan Wammes scored from Blake Butler and Cole Brydges putting the Sting ahead. Unfortunately, the Chatham Cyclones would sneak one in and the game ended 3 – 3.
Lambton Jr. Sting Minor Atoms meet the Chatham Cyclones again tomorrow with home ice advantage but the Cyclones will be out for a win.
