Gray and Foster Stop 70 of 71 Shots
The Lambton Jr. Sting Minor Atom AAA team continues to improve on the ice, and are frustrating their opponents who are still fighting for a playoff position. Since the beginning of January, the team is 0 – 3 – 3 in league play and this past weekend, they went undefeated against their west division rivals from Chatham and Windsor.

In their first game of the weekend, the Jr. Sting travelled to Chatham to take on the Cyclones. The first period was dominated by Chatham but this tenacious Lambton team would head in to the second period with a 1 – 0 lead after Austin Harper roofed a “wrister” past the Cyclone goaltend with just 17 seconds remaining in the period. Assists on the goal were given to winger Andrew Lemieux and defenseman Madeleine Godfrey. Unfortunately, Chatham would come back 5 minutes later to tie the game at 1 – 1. That was it for scoring for both teams as the third period was a battle of the goaltenders. Jr. Sting goaltender, Kaden Gray, made numerous key saves throughout the game while stopping 49 of the 50 shots he faced to help preserve the tie.

In their second game of the weekend, the team travelled down the 401 to take on the Windsor Jr. Spitfire at Central Athletic Arena. Once again, there were many chances at both ends but no one could bury the puck past either goaltender. Lambton goaltender, Blake Foster, made 21 saves to earn his first shutout of the season in a 0 – 0 tie.
