Peewee's Looking Forward to Fresh Start in New Year
This past Saturday afternoon the Major Peewees hosted London Knights, in what the team hoped would be a bit of a pay back for the loss the weekend before.

Early in the game Sting were winning most of the loose puck battles and were able get some quality scoring chances on the London goaltender.  Nic Direzze opened the scoring when he intercepted a puck at the blue and skated down the right side taking a shot to the glove side, which the goalie mishandled.

The Sting early in the second period got into some penalty trouble, and unfortunately London were able to capitalize on the power play, tying the game 1-1.  Shortly, after the Sting got a power play of their own but were unable to score.  However, minutes later Joey Ferrera put the team up again, as he banged home a rebound in front of the net from a shot by Lucas Knowles.  This lead did not last long as the Knights were able to get a lucky goal similar to our first goal, coming from a shot that dribbled off the jersey of Jakob Knowles.  London one shift later could have made it 3-2 if not for the fantastic save by Knowles on a 2 on 1.

The third period did not start out well for the Sting.  The Knights scores 15 seconds into the period to go up 3-2.  The Sting continued to battle and their efforts produced another power play, this time a 4 minute one.  During the power play the Sting maintained good puck control and produced some quality scoring chances.  Sadly, the power play was cut short due to a penalty of our own, which led to another London goal, to make the score 4-2.  With only minutes left Knowles broke out with Dante Fuoco on a 2 on 1 which was executed perfectly, making the score 4-3 and giving a chance to even the score with the goalie on the bench.   Despite their efforts the Sting were unable to tie the game.
