Sting Take Opener
The Minor Bantam's were at the RBC Thursday evening to open the playoffs vs Chatham. The Sting were looking for a victory to keep home ice intact.
The first period was scoreless as it appeared both teams were tight and feeling each other out.
The Sting would get on the board in the second frame as Eric Cardinal took a beauty pass from Nick Discanno and went in and dangled the Chatham goaltender for a 1-0 lead.
It was hard to get any momentum going as ref and linseman ineptness continually reared it's ugly head.
The game stayed at 1-0 until the final minute when Chatham pulled the goalie for the extra attacker, Eric Cardinal would get his second of the game scoring into the yawning cage on a feed from from Jared Pageau.
That would make the final 2-0 for the good guys !
Ethan Hunt was in total command between the pipes in the shut out victory.
Lambton travels to Bothwell Sunday afternoon looking to go up 2 in the series.
There is no quit is this Chatham squad so it will take a team effort to secure a win.
