Sting Get Big Road Win
The Sting travelled to Windsor Saturday night facing elimination with a loss as Windsor beat Elgin for the second time Friday night.
The Sting were without 4 skaters so AP Bailey Smalls from Mooretown was called upon to help the team.
Nick Discanno's PP goal at the 7:53 mark of period one gave Lambton an early lead. Eric Cardinal and Conner Royer assisted on the play.
Windsor came back to square things late in the first period to make it 1-1 going into the 2nd frame.
The Spits pulled ahead on a goal at 10:59 of the period. Matt Hunt tied it on a feed from Jared Pageau as Noah Campbell also assisted.
Jared Pageau put the Sting ahead 3-2 at the 2:26 mark of period two, Bailey Smalls drew the assist.
Both teams battled hard in the third but Eric Cardinal iced the game scoring an empty netter from Matt Hunt and Jared Pageau.
Ethan Hunt was very sharp in net.
The Sting return home Sunday to face Elgin at 4:15 and with a win will advance to the final to play the winner from the East.
