Sting Give All but Fall in Game One
A very short handed Sting Team travelled to Hamilton Friday evening to play the Hamilton Huskies in game one of the best of seven playoff finals.

The Sting were missing five regulars from the line up but AP call ups, Cameron Rombouts and Bailey Smalls were more than willing to answer the bell.
Lambton ran with 4 D men and nine forwards to start the game.
The Sting came out of the gates flying and took the play to the Huskies but could not beat the Hamilton tender. The Huskies broke the ice in the final minute of the first when a flipped puck barely landed over a Sting D's outstretched arm and sent the Huskie in on a break away. The Sting lost Bailey Smalls to an upper body injury the first shift of the game so more of a load was placed on the team as Bailey had been playing outstanding the previous two games.
Lambton would once again control the play the second period but could not get a puck past the strong Hamilton goaltender. Cameron Rombouts rung one off the post as the PeeWee call up showed he was not out of place.
Lambton continued to press in the third period when Matt Hunt was taken out of the game with another upper body injury but putting the Sting on a five minute PP. The Sting wete unable to capitalize on the PP and pulled their goale the final minute to try and tie it up. Lambton were buzzing around the Hamilton goal looking for the tying marker but the puck came down the wall and the Hamilton player beat our D man and scored into the yawning cage to secure a win for the Huskies.
The Sting controlled the majority of play and left it all on the ice but it was not meant to be on this night as the Hamilton stopper was not going to be beat. The Sting had three break aways that were turned aside. The boys should be proud of their efforts as they gave their ALL !
Ethan Hunt was rock solid in net for Lambton.
Hopefully the two injuries are quick healers as the two are needed in this line up.
The coaching staff are very proud of the kids that stayed to battle thru these last three games, an amazing effort!
These two teams resume the series today in Sarnia at the RBC at 1:30 pm.
