Late goal lifts Knights past Sting 1-0
It now comes down to a race to 3 points as the London Jr. Knights evened the series against the Lambton Jr. Sting Wednesday night with a hard fought 1-0 victory.
Playing a much better game in the small Medway arena the Sting battled hard and went scoring chance for scoring chance with the team from London.
After two scoreless periods the Lambton team came out in the third looking to take the game but were denied on numerous scoring chance by the London goalie.
With just under 4 minutes to play London would score the only goal that was needed to take the game and even the series.
Anthony Hurtubise was strong in net for the Sting especially moving the puck with his stick not allowing the Knights to pressure the defence and providing great breakouts throughout the game.
Play resumes tonight at the RBC rink #2 at 7:30pm..
Both teams now have 5 points apiece.
