The Lambton Jr. Sting turned in a solid performance this
weekend with a home and road victory.
The home game on Saturday saw the Lambton Jr. Sting squaring up against the Cambridge Hawks for the first time this season. After the 1st the boys controlled a 3-1 lead. The Jr. Sting never looked back and continued with strong play through the 2nd. A lapse in the 3rd saw the Hawks capitalize and they started to rally, but the clock was on the Jr. Sting side and the boys maintained the lead, and took the game 7-4 to put it’s first home game “W” in the books.
Road trip…. After a great parents night out, the Jr.Sting hit the road on Sunday and travelled to Essex to meet the Sun County Panthers for the 2nd time this month. After a shaky start by the Jr. Sting the Panthers put the puck in the net shortly after the puck was dropped. The boys then turned it up and fired back with 4 goals in less than five minutes to stun the panthers, and took a 4-2 lead going into the 3rd. The puck found the back of the net two more times and the Jr. Sting stole one back from the Panthers 6-3.
Good work boys, a great team effort. Practice hard this week!!!
