The Lambton Jr Sting Minor Atoms take two games with strong
play and a team concept that has come together nicely.
Game #1 Kitchener Rangers
A well played game for the Jr Sting taking the lead 1-0 in the 1st and adding two more in the 2nd to stay ahead of the Ranger 3-1. The 3rd was productive for the boys as they battled for possession and maintained the lead securing the win 6-2.
Game #2 Hamilton Huskies
After the last meeting it was a hard pill to swallow scoring 6 goals and not coming up with a win. The boys know that the team concept is working and individual play is slowly becoming less of an issue.
The first was a feeling out period and Hamilton scored two minutes into the game. Twenty seconds later the Jr Sting answered back and the first ended up tied at one a piece.
The second period was all Jr Sting taking advantage of a power play opportunity and insurance goal to follow the next shift taking a 3-1 lead after two.
The third was a full period of executing the game plan and playing for 15 minutes. Hamilton had an empty net and the extra attacker and put one in with 3 seconds left in the game, Jr. Sting winning 3-2.
Practice hard this week boys, as we have a full weekend of hockey ahead.
“The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.”
