The Bluewater Referees Association in conjunction with Lambton Junior Sting Midget AAA and the Breast Cancer Society of Sarnia Lambton

When: October 20, 2013 3:00 pm

The Bluewater Referees Association has designated October 20th Breast Cancer Awareness day. On this day, the referees, will be donating their game fees to the Breast Cancer Society of Sarnia Lambton in memory of loves ones.

This signature event will be held at the Royal Bank Center on October 20th 3:00 pm during the Lambton Jr. Sting Major Midget AAA vs. Windsor Spitfires game.

The 4 officials involved with the game will have had someone (friend or relative) that has been touched by Breast cancer in some way.

These referees will be wearing pink/black striped shirts, pink laces and pink whistles as well they will be donating their officiating fees to the local Breast Cancer chapter.

This event was inspired by Matthew Murray, one of the referees for the game, in memory of his great aunt who is a victim of breast cancer. The other main referee, Mark Colbran, will be skating for his sister-in-law who is a breast cancer survivor.

At centre ice dropping the ceremonial puck will be Lucy Colbran, Linda Jones (linesman Tim Jones’ wife) and Bob Williamson whose wife was taken by breast cancer last year.

The Event: 3:00 – warm-up
