Garrett played for Jonathan Taylor and the Lambton Jr Sting in his final Major Midget yr, 2015/2016. Although he was coming off an injury from the Spring, Garrett worked throughout the year to get back to form by the end of the season.
With the recommendation from Jonathan Taylor, he was giving the opportunity to play Jr B with the Lambton Shores Predators in the GOJHL 2016/2017.
The Following year he moved on to Jr A playing for the Minnesota Iron Rangers in the SIJHL for the 2017/2018 season. He started the season on the 3rd line and worked his way to the 2nd line with power play and penalty kill opportunites. Garretts Coaches appreciated his extra work, both on ice & off ice and rewarded him the last month of the season by appointing him as Co-Captain.
Garrett returned to the Minnesota Iron Rangers for his final year of Juniors, 2018/2019 season. Coming into the year, the Coaches made him Captian. This has expanded his responsibilities to running the off ice workouts, pregame warm ups and maintaining a positive atmosphere in the locker room. Garretts work over the summer has paid off as he is on the first line, PP and PK.
Garrett was chosen to play in the SIJHL All Star game which included a skills competition and Team USA vs Team Canada game. The coaches for the USA team chose Garrett as an assistant captian for the game. After a back and forth battle for 2 and half periods, Garrett scored the game winning goal to help Team USA to victory.
Garrett continues to work towards his goal of playing College hockey.
