I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe through these difficult times. I know that this is not ideal times and I am sure everyone wants to be back to what is normal for all of us but if we are all smart and do our part we will be sooner rather than later.
With that, for the hockey side of things. For the players that are planning to attend this years tryouts for the 09 U12 team I hope you are all doing what is necessary to put yourself in the best position possible to make this years team. Here are a few ideas of off ice training that you can do at home just yourself, with your parents, or with a sibling.
- Shoot pucks
- Stick Handle (Superdeker is fun)
- Juggle for hand eye, reaction
- Go for runs
- Rollerblade
- Push ups
- Sit ups
- Wind Sprints
- Watch hockey clips for positioning, skill development, shot selection, rebound control, etc.
For players on last years team. I do have video of some of games last year, if you would like it sent to you, have your parent reach out via email and I will do my best to get that to you as quick as I can.
Anything that you believe will help you be ready by the time we step back on the ice.
I am looking for 17 dedicated players who want to learn, work hard, be good teammates, want to be pushed, build positive relationships, and practice and play against the best competition in there age group.
