𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒉𝒐𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒚?

I started playing hockey when I was 4 years old

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒉𝒐𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒚?

My Mum signed me up for hockey when I was four, just for fun. When I played hockey for the first time I loved the game and fell in love with the game. Ever since my first hockey game it has been my favourite thing to do and the rink is my happy place.

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚?𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒄𝒖𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏?

When I was younger I started hockey as a forward and moved back and forth between forward and defence until minor bantam. About half way through the minor bantam season I switched to defence and have stayed there since. I like defence because I can start the play with the first breakout pass and can see the whole ice from my position. I also like defence because I can play the shutdown role but can use my offensive skill by rushing the puck and making plays and helping my team on offence and defence.

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒕𝒉?

I would say my greatest strength would be my shot. Ever since a young age I have always worked on my shot, and have worked on it every year in different ways. I can still improve on it but I would say that is my greatest strength in my game.

𝑰𝒇 𝑰 𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒄𝒐𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒔𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒐𝒏, 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒚?

I think that if you called my coaches they would tell me to work on my first three steps. I am working on and off the ice to get quicker in my first three steps and I think that I have been getting quicker every year and it is helping my game.

𝑯𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒉𝒐𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒚? 𝑰𝒇 𝒔𝒐, 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒕?

I play many different sports including cross-country, basketball, track and field in high school. In my younger years I won many first place awards for cross country, basketball, and track. In grade 8 I won the athlete of the year at my school. One of my greatest sport accomplishments outside of hockey would be placing 9th at OFSAA last year for cross country with the team finishing fourth. Also my basketball team won SWOSSA last year.

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒊𝒏𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒊𝒔, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒉𝒚?

I think that electric cars are the greatest invention of my lifetime. They changed the way the car business was run and will change the way cars are made in the future. Also these cars help with pollution and global warming.

𝑰𝒏𝒗𝒊𝒕𝒆 3 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒓...𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚?

Wayne Gretzky, Micheal Jordan, Sidney Crosby. I think they all would have great advice for me and would have great stories to learn from.

𝑰𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒈𝒐 𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒊𝒕 𝒃𝒆?

If I could go back in time and change one thing it would be COVID-19. Without COVID we would be having a hockey season and life would be normal again and people could travel again. Everything would be back to normal and you could just live your regular life again.

𝑷𝒓𝒆-𝒈𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍?

I don’t really have any superstitions, or any pre game ritual except for I usually have pasta before every game.
