Lambton Jr Sting Major Bantams open Playoffs with Victory over London
After a busy three weeks, participating in two tournaments and playing 3 regular season games, the Lambton Jr Sting Major Bantams opened there Playoff Series versus the defending Alliance Champion London Knights Gold team on Thursday night. The Sting utilized home ice advantage and skated to a 4 – 2 victory, taking a 1 – 0 lead in the best of 5 series.
Mitch DeRush-Pageau and Nick Sproverio led the attack with a goal and assist each. Adam Lane chipped in with two assists. Ryan Frizzell and Jeff Sit added single markers. Ryan Trottier picked up the other assist. Joel Sowinisk was strong between the pipes earning the victory.
The Bantams are off to London for game 2 on Sunday. Game 3 is back in Sarnia at the RBC Centre, on Monday, Jan. 18 at 7:30 PM.
