Home win and an away loss this weekend.
The Minor Peewee faced Elgin Middlesex on Saturday at the RBC

After a defeat last time we met with Elgin Middlesex the Sting boys were hoping for a better result with their home game on Saturday - they weren't disappointed.

The game starts with the puck in the Lambton zone, cleared out with good play by Spencer Vandenboom and Kyle Kachan. Hunter Monkhouse and Cory Smith skate the puck down to the Elgin end with a good try on net, but Elgin grab control and skate it back. The Sting boys jostle for the puck and the Chiefs take it down for a shot on the Lambton net. More attacks on the Sting net result in the first goal of the game for Elgin. Middlesex skate back up to Lambton and take another shot but Luc Thorne-Smith makes the save. Elgin seize the puck and skate back with only Ryan Barwitzki between them and the Sting net - great defensive play by Barwitzki stops the shot.

We go into the second period with the score at 1-0 to the Chiefs. The sting are still on power play and go straight on the attack taking a shot on Elgin that goes in after the whistle. The puck gets loose and the Chiefs take a shot on Thorne-Smith. The power play finishes and Nolan DeGurse takes the puck all the way back into the Elgin zone and scores a great unassisted equalizing goal. Elgin come back on the attack but good play by Matt McIntyre sends the puck back out. The Sting then take a penalty giving the Middlesex boys the advantage. Several saves are made but more attacks on the Sting net give Middlesex a 2nd goal. Elgin try another shot but Thorne-Smith gloves the puck. We go into the third 2-1 to the Chiefs.

Play starts in the Lambton end with several unsuccessful shots on the Sting net. Elgin skate towards the Lambton zone but the puck is taken by Jaxon Shelton and skated down to the Middlesex end, passed out front of net and shot in by Vandenboom for the equalizer 2-2. Elgin attack the Sting net again but no goal. The Chiefs grab a second penalty giving Lambton another power play. Dylan Riddell fires in a beauty assisted by DeGurse taking the Sting boys into the lead for the first time in the game 3-2. Middlesex pull their goalie and skate back up for more shots, but Thorne-Smith refuses to allow the puck in. The whistle goes giving the Sting boys an excellent result with a 3-2 win.

The following day the boys travel to London to face the London Knights.

Good tries in the first period by all the boys and some great checking, but with 20 shots on our net we go into the second 2-0 down.

The Sting try hard in the second period with several good plays but none successful and we enter the final period 3-0 down.

The Knights were relentless with attacks on the Lambton net and although the Sting tried hard with a final push at the end, with 56 shots on our net we take the loss 8-0.

Next weekend the Minor Peewee face Sun County at home.
