This weekend the Minor Peewee played their last two regular season league games.
The Minor Peewee faced Sun County Panthers at home on Saturday.



The Panthers take control at the drop of the puck and attack the Sting net, skated out by Ryan Bartwitzki but taken back in for a shot on goalie Luc Thorne-Smith. Promptly taken out again but Sun County return with the puck and take the first goal of the game. The Panthers continue their pressure on the Lambton end and several shots are turned away. Brandon Neelin skates the puck out and Kyle Kachan stops Sun County from bringing it back. Good passing by Matt McIntyre and skated out by Cory Smith. Dylan Riddell also shoots the puck away but the Panthers turn it around for another try. Hunter Monkhouse grabs the puck and has a great try on net. Another save by Thorne-Smith but still more pressure around the net. More saves and Josh McLean intercepts the puck and shoots over to Spencer Vandenboom who has a great try. The Sting put more pressure on and the puck is kept in play by Steele Harris. The Panthers then take control and skate up scoring their 2nd. Another try on net from Monkhouse and once again Sun Country skate up for a shot which Thorne-Smith turns away, the puck is taken back up by Riddell and Nolan DeGurse but the Panthers snag it back and return for another shot. More pressure around the Sting net and Sun County take a penalty giving Lambton an advantage.

The second period begins with the Sting still on their power play. Jaxon Shelton and Riddell carry the puck in with Riddell taking a good shot on net. The power play continues and Kachan scores the first goal for Lambton assisted by Smith and DeGurse. Great defensive work from Kachan and Neelin keeps the puck away from the Sting end with Vandenboom skating the puck in. Puck kept in play by DeGurse and a good try from Riddell. More pressure on the Lambton net and good interception from Carson Perry who skates the puck out. The Panthers take it back in with another save from Thorne-Smith. The Sting defence play hard again and Monkhouse takes the puck into the Sun County zone. Good play from Ryleigh Vanderwal keeps the puck at bay but yet more pressure from the Panthers. Another try from Kachan blocked by Sun County. Good checking from Harris but we take a penalty. Great team work from Riddell, and McIntyre keep the Panthers momentarily away from the net but they break loose and take a shot. The save is made and Monkhouse shoots the puck out, no score on the power play. More shots on the Lambton net and great interception from McIntyre. Still more pressure in the Sting end and more saves. Kachan takes the puck away and Harris keeps it in the Sun County zone. The Panthers break once again and take a shot which is promptly gloved by Thorne-Smith. McClean skates the puck out just as the buzzer sounds.

We go into the third with Sun County leading 2-1. The Panthers go straight on the attack trying to widen their lead. Great play by McLean who grabs the puck mid-pass and skates it away with a try on net. Sun County take more shots on the Lambton net. Good pressure on the Panthers from McIntyre, Shelton, Monkhouse and Vanderwal, and the Sting grab another power play. Despite trys from Lambton they can't catch a break and the power play ends. Sun Country skate back up but are met by McClean who shoots the puck back out. Breakaway by the Panthers but Thorne-Smith makes the save. Sun County take more shots and Barwitzki takes the puck away. Good team work from the Sting keeps the Panthers from their net. Vanderwal skates the puck out but Sun County come back for a shot which is stopped by Neelin. More trys to equalize by Lambton and more pressure by the Panthers. Shelton takes a shot but no luck. The Sting pull Thorne-Smith for a final push but they take the loss 2-1.


On Sunday the Minor Peewee take on the Windsor Spitfires for the last league game of the season.

The Sting grab the puck and Jaxon Shelton skates straight up to the Spitfire end, Windsor grab it back and skate down to take the first goal of the game. Lambton take a penalty giving the Spitfires an advantage, two saves from goal tender Liam McCarthy and good checking from Kyle Kachan gets the puck sent out by Spencer Vandenboom. Windsor come in for another shot but Brandon Neelin sends it away with no score on the power play. Steel Harris intercepts the puck but the Spitfires score their second. Play goes to the Windsor end with Matt McIntyre keeping it in. Good try from Josh McLean but with no luck. Another power play for the Spitfires and good defensive team work from the Sting. Nice checking from Neelin and Cory Smith skates the puck away. Nice play from Hunter Monkhouse, Jaxon Shelton and Ryleigh Vanderwal. A great shot from Kachan but it clinks the post. Monkhouse also moves in for a shot. More pressure on the Windsor net from Harris, and a good try from Smith, Nolan Degurse and Shelton. Another save from McCarthy and picked up by Dylan Riddell. Skated up by Vandenboom with another great  shot on net from McLean. Carson Perry grabs the puck from the Spitfires and shoots it up but they take it back in for a shot and score their third. Good checking from Harris but we go into the second 3-0 down.

Windsor skate in to pressure the Sting net but are met with checking from Smith, and Kachan passes the puck out. Another save is made but the Spitfires grab the puck and score their fourth. Degurse takes the puck in for a try and Windsor take a penalty. Ryan Barwitzki takes the puck out of the Lambton zone and good team work from McIntyre and Barwitzki take it towards the Spitfire end, Riddell passes it in, and Smith scores the Sting's first goal of the game. Kachan keeps the puck from the net and DeGurse skates it out. Windsor take it back but McLean attacks and keeps it in. More pressure on the Lambton net but kept away by McCarthy. Another good try from McLean, Monkhouse and Vanderwal. Penalties served from both teams and a good shot on net from DeGurse and Riddell but we go into the final period 4-1 down.

Great team work from the Sting keep the puck from their net. More penalties and good checking from Vandenboom sees the puck shot up by Barwitzki. Windsor take it back and score their fifth. Perry grabs the puck and skates it up and great checking from Kachan sees the puck back with Lambton. Nice work from Barwitzki and McIntyre keeps the puck from the Sting net and Shelton shoots it out with Smith taking another shot on net. The Spitfires take it back for another shot but can't get past McCarthy. Monkhouse skates it up again and Windsor take another penalty. Great try by McLean on the power play but the Spitfires turn around and head back to the Sting net, stopped in their tracks by McIntyre and Windsor take another penalty. With 5 on 3 in the final seconds of play, Lambton try hard for another goal but the final score is 5-1 to the Spitfires.

This week the Minor Peewee start their playdown vs the London Knights
