The Minor Peewee lose to Sun County
On Sunday the Minor Peewee faced Sun County Panthers at home.

The first period started slowly but with some great defensive play from the Sting although Sun County manage to shoot in a rebound taking the first goal. Good checking from Kyle Kachan and Steele Harris and a good play by Hunter Monkhouse then the Panthers take a penalty. Great trys on the power play by Jaxon Shelton and Kachan but the Panthers grab the puck and skate up to the Lambton net, a nice save by Luc Thorne-Smith sends the puck out to Ryan Barwitzki who returns play to the Sun County end. The first period ends with the Panthers in the lead 2-0.

The Sting boys come out strong in the second and in under a minute, Nolan DeGurse passes the puck across the net to Dylan Riddell who shoots in a beauty. Cory Smith skates the puck in and Lambton jostle around the Sun County net, the puck is kept in for several trys by great defensive play from Brandon Neelin. The puck ends up in the Panther end again but is skated out by Harris who is taken down by Sun County resulting in another penalty. The Sting play hard as a team on the Panthers power play with no goal. On the next Sun County penalty the Sting boys set up a great play, Riddell passes to DeGurse who passes to Spencer Vandenboom who does a great wraparound and scores tying up the game 2-2. Another try by Monkhouse and a near miss by Josh McLean, several saves by Thorne-Smith and trys on the Panther net by Lambton but with scuffling around the Sting net, Sun County get their third with just 4 seconds of play left.

The Lambton boys try hard to equalize again in the third with checking by Riddell and Steel, more good defensive work from Shelton and Neelin and shots being turned away, but despite their efforts and pulling Thorne-Smith near the end for a final push, the Panthers take the win 4-2.

Next Sunday the Minor Peewee face the Chatham Cyclones.
