The '01 Minor Peewee AAA teams bring home the Nations Cup
Following a great weekend of games played by the Minor Peewee, Canada can proudly display the Nations cup for 2013.
This weekend the Lambton Jnr Sting Minor Peewee AAA had the pleasure to join together with Sun County, Quinte Red Devils, Orchard Lake, Chatham, York Simcoe, Sault Ste Marie, Markham, Mississauga Rebels and Guelph Storm to take part in the 2013 Nations Cup Tournament in Lansing Michigan. Instead of writing up all 5 games the scores are as follows:
Game 1 vs Little Caesars S - 0-2 to the Sting.
Shut-out for goalie Luc Thorne-Smith and a great start to the weekend as this was the first '01 game played in the tournament.
Goal 1 scored by Nolan DeGurse (assisted by Dylan Riddell and Steel Harris) and goal 2 scored by Carson Perry (assisted by Cory Smith and Kyle Kachan).
Game 2 vs MI Nationals - 4-6 to the Nationals.
Goal 1 scored by Dylan Riddell (assisted by Matt McIntyre and Kyle Kachan), goal 2 scored by Kyle Kachan (assisted by Nolan Degurse and Matt McIntyre), goal 3 scored by Cory Smith (assisted by Jaxon Shelton) and goal 4 scored by Nolan DeGurse (assisted by Matt McIntyre and Ryan Barwitzki).
Game 3 vs Long Island Gulls - 3-2 to the Sting.
Goal 1 scored by Spencer Vandenboom (assisted by Brandon Neelin), goal 2 scored by Kyle Kachan (assisted by Nolan DeGurse and Dylan Riddell) and goal 3 scored by Spencer Vandenboom (assisted by Carson Perry).
Game 4 vs Chicago Young Americans 5-2 to the Young Americans.

Game 5 vs Compuware 4-3 to Compuware.

Having listed the goal scorers and assists I would like to point out that EVERY member of the Minor Peewee played their hearts out this weekend, each game had highlights and players deserving a mention in this write-up but seeing as everyone participated in every game in some way it would take far too long to write-up all 5 games. Well played boys and congratulations to all the teams' combined efforts to bring home the 01 Minor Peewee Nations Cup Trophy this year, we are so very proud of all of you.
