Season comes to an end
Submitted

The Minor Midget AAA season came to an end this past weekend with a trio of extremely close games against the Windsor Jr Spitfires. In the end Windsor came out on top with a power play goal with 3 minutes left to eliminate the Jr Sting. All in all the boys fought hard and played some of their best hockey in the past 2 weeks and that's all we could have asked. We gave Windsor a battle they almost couldn't handle and walked away with our heads held high. We wish the boys the very best in the future and encourage everyone to get out to as many camps/skates as they can this summer and start ...

The Lambton Jr Sting started its first series vs the Windsor Jr Spitfires on Saturday night down in Windsor. Blake Hull scored his first of the season while Carson Perry jammed in a wrap around attempt with 2 minutes left to tie the game at 2-2. Overtime solved nothing so the game was left at 2-2, with each team gaining 1 point.

Hard fought finish to the reg season

The Jr Sting fought hard in the final week of the regular season picking up 3 of 6 points. Despite having most of the team feeling rather ill this past week the Sting marched into Elgin on Tuesday and picked up a big 2-1 win. Degurse and Clements were the goal scorers while Maclean stood on his head in net. Wednesday seen a 4-0 loss in Hamilton, but that didn't stop the Sting from going into Huron on Sunday and gaining another point in a 4-4 tie. The boys were drinking Buckleys and chewing on halls going in and managed 12 penalties vs Hurons 2, but they still some how found the heart to crawl ...

The Jr Sting played in the Toronto marlboros tournament over the past few days and despite not making it out of the round-robin, the boys played there best hockey yet! A 2-0 loss to a good Barrie Colts team put us behind the eight ball to start off, but a 1-1 tie vs North York and a 2-0 win vs Thunder Bay brought us right back into contention with one game to go! Unfortunately that one game to go was vs a team who sits in the number 2 spot in Ontario. The boys gave it all they had but unfortunately there wasn't enough left in the tank and the Jr Sting would eventually fall 3-0 to the ...

Sting battle Chatham to a 2-2 tie
Submitted
By dviggers on Dec 10, 2016 (686 views)
The Jr. Sting recently travelled down highway 40 to face the Chatham Cyclones. The game did not start as planned with Chatham popping the first of the game on a questionable goaltender interference play. After debate from the referees they decided that there was no intent and the goal was allowed. Nicholas Steeves answered back by walking around a Chatham defender and putting a shot low glove, which found its way in the net and we were tied at 1. Mid way through the second Spencer Vandenboom made a tremendous pass to Nolan Degurse and Degurse made no mistake putting the Sting up by one. ...
