The Lambton Jr Sting AAA major atoms defeated Sun County in game 5 last night in Essex with a thrilling come from behind 4-2 victory.

There was no score after a hard fought first period but it was Sun County that drew first blood getting 2 goals early in the second period. The boys kept working and it was Lucas Knowles who scored the first goal, assisted by Cameron Rombouts. In the dying seconds of the period, Theo Crombeen swatted in a rebound out of the air, assisted by Nolan Farr and Lucas Knowles. Kyle Blunt caused a turnover and was rewarded with an unassisted goal 5 minutes into the third. Theo Crombeen scored his second of the night late in the third, assisted by Cameron Rombouts.

Jakob Knowles had an amazing game in net shutting the door many times on the Panthers. Josh Bayne had previous big games in net earlier in this series. The defence core of Gage Langford, Alec Trusler, Nolan Farr, and Duncan Core did a great job tightening the gap and limiting the time and space of the Panther forwards. Dante Fuoco, Joey Ferrera, and Ben Arthurs are to be commended on their hard work in our D zone and their excellent back checking.

This team is having great success because we are playing as a team and getting production from everyone. Every game it is a different set of names on the game sheet for points and these guys are overcoming obstacles to win hockey games.

All of the coaches and parents are extremely proud of these guys. If they keep battling and playing as a team then they should find success at the end of the next series.

Good luck in the championship round boys. You deserve this, so go out there and get it!
