The Jr. Sting Look Forward to a New Season
The Lambton Jr. Sting Major Atom AAA team opened their season last weekend taking on the Brantford 99ers and the London Jr. Knights at home.

In their first game, this sophomore team came out flat and ended up losing 5 – 2. The 99ers came out strong in the first and had a 2 – 0 lead heading in to the second period of play. Brantford would make it 3 – 0 before first year center, Nate Highfield, scored his first of the season, shorthanded early in the third period. Brandford would answer back with two more before Carson Peer closed out the scoring late in final frame from Ryder Nienhuis and Owen Peters.

In their second game of the weekend, the Jr. Sting took on their 402 rivals from London. Lambton came out flying in the first, out shooting their opposition 13 – 4 but found themselves down 2 – 0 at the end of the period. London would make it 3 – 0 before Ryder Nienhuis buried a rebound from freshman defenseman, Anthony Bax making it 3 – 1 Knights. Unfortunately, that was as close as Lambton would get, losing 6 – 1.

This Jr. Sting team looks forwards to getting in the wins column this weekend when they host their division rivals, the Chatham-Kent Cyclones on Saturday and travel to Zurich to take on the Huron-Perth Lakers on Sunday.
