Minor Bantam '96, 2009-2010 (Lambton Jr. Sting AAA Hockey )

Cornel Felder, played outstanding in both games for his team this weekend vs Waterloo. We went into Waterloo and lost a very close game 2-1 with one minute left on the clock they scored their second goal. The boys efforts was solid we just didn't put the puck in the net when we had our chances. Our second game we lost 4-0 at home in a game that seemed much closer than the score. We had our chances and didn't score they had their chances and did score. Cole Lauzon, played a fantastic game for his team turning away all but one goal in the most Important game of the season for this team.We were down two players and faced with a need to either tie or win to move up Into the playoffs consolation round so we found a way to win 2-1 vs Windsor in Windsor. It was just brought to my attention that this is the first time this 96 age group has avoided the consolation bowl and have earned the right to play for something more and have moved up instead of down after the first round of their playoffs.  Right from the drop of the puck our boys came out ...

Cornel Felder, played a great game for his team. We went into Chatham and pulled out a much needed playoff win and we did it with all three lines chipping in. Our team is really playing well together over the last three weeks. With 4 Wins, 3 Losses and 2 Ties in our last nine games we are finally learning that if you stay focused and keep working hard you never know what can happen. Coaches are very Impressed with this teams efforts as of late.

The Minor Bantam hockey team battled hard in it's final tournament of the 2009/2010 season. In round robin play our team Won 2, Lost 1 and Tied 1 placing them Third in overall points 1 1/2 points behind second place. Due to the tournament set up we found ourselves out of the play-off rounds as we watched a fourth and fifth place team advance to the semis with a fraction of the points that we had. I think the fifth place team advanced without earning a win. I know the boys were upset, but they need to hold their heads up high and be proud of the efforts as a team that was put forth. Cole Lauzon, played a solid game for his team tonight. Our boys came out working hard but lost a little focus in the first and second periods taking some undiscplined penalties and we were down 3-0 going into the third period. From the start of the third period we saw a much different team show up, we spent most of the third period buzzing around their end of the ice. With less than three minutes we scored our first then quickly followed up with two more goals to tie the game and with 30 seconds let we hit the cross-bar.
