2005-2004/U18, 2021-2022 (Lambton Jr. Sting AAA Hockey )

The u18 Sting squad were tasked with a David vs Goliath type match up in the first round of playoffs.  The 1st vs 8th seed provided some intrigue and lots of sports cliche's but at the end of the day the Sting were overmatched by a better team.  

After a 6 week shutdown, the lambton u18 squad had a tough time getting back to the level of hockey they were playing prior to the Christmas Covid shutdown.  Faced with numerous games in a short time, the Sting lads limped their way through a couple weeks while trying to find their skating legs and find that elusive chemistry that was lacking.  

The Sting resumed league play tonight with a trip down the 402 to square off against the London Jr. Knights.  After the first period it was 0-0.  London struck first in the second  to go up 1-0. The Sting bounced back with a goal by Kevin Waters who tapped in a rebound off a Colton Graham rush and wrap around attempt.  Jace McGrail who started the breakout to Graham gained the second assist.  Game tied 1-1.

The Lambton Sting u18 Squad with a depleted lineup skated into enemy territory in Komoka Tuesday night to take on their arch rival Elgin- Middlesex Chiefs, a team that has many former Lambton Sting players.  The game was a back and forth affair with both teams trading two goals apiece in the first period but Lambton would prevail in a shootout to claim the two points.  

John Chartrand and Joe Malinowski have stood tall between the pipes for the u18 Sting.  They both get peppered each game with 40+ shots and both goalies keep the team in the game giving the team a fighting chance to win.
