Major Atoms Tie Cambridge
The Jr. Sting played three games on home ice over the weekend. Friday night, the Major Atoms faced off against the Chatham- Kent Cyclones. The Sting with Ethan Langford in net, contained the Cyclones offense for most of the first period only allowing one goal.  Chatham went on to add four more unanswered goals to win 5-0 over the Sting.

The Jr. Sting hosted Cambridge at the RBC on Saturday afternoon and notched a 1-1 tie in a hard fought battle. Blake Butler opened the scoring for the Sting on a power play goal in the first period assisted by Kaleb Edlington and Cole Houghton.  Cambridge replied less than 30 seconds later with their only goal of the game. Adam Mino held the Hawks off the rest of the game to secure the tie.

The Sun County Panthers travelled to Sarnia on Sunday for the Jr. Sting’s third game of the weekend.  Sun County opened the scoring in the first period but the Sting quickly replied with a goal by Tristen Konrad, assisted by Carter Barron.  The Panthers added two more goals in the first to take the lead 3-1 but Blake Butler finished the period with an unassisted goal to take the Sting into the second period trailing by one.  The Sting added two more goals in the second period, a short hand goal by Wil O’Leary- Dilosa and another goal by Blake Butler. Unfortunately, Sun County added 5 goals in the second to go ahead 8-4 and secure the win.
