2013 League Win Elusive For Major Atoms
The Major Atom AAA Jr. Sting played back to back home games this weekend.  Despite solid goaltending by Ethan Langford and Adam Mino, the boys were unable to break their current losing streak.

On Friday night the London Jr. Knights, who are currently in second place in the Pavillion West Division, made the trek to the SSEC.  Looking to overcome the last two games in London ( also known as the Gongshow Series), Adam Mino took the call to the net.  Despite a relatively penalty free game ( unlike the Gongshow Series), the Jr. Sting fell to the Knights 7-0.

On Saturday at the SSEC, the Jr. Sting played against the Pavillion West Division 4th ranked team, Windsor Jr. Spitfires.  Ethan Langford held the Spitfires off the score board for most of the first period of play but the Spitfires capitalized on 2 man advantage to open the scoring.  In the second period, the Spitfires advanced their lead to 2-0 but Wil O'Leary Dilosa quickly replied to put the Sting on the scoreboard.

Unfortunately, Windsor added 3 more unanswered goals in the second period to advance their lead to 5-1.  The Sting attempted to rally in the third period with a power play goal by Blake Butler, assisted by Wil O'Leary Dilosa, but the team could not overcome the deficit ending the game with a 5-2 loss.

The Major Atoms travel to the Cambridge Preston Tournament this weekend.
