MIDGET'S LOSE BATTLE FOR THIRD PLACE
Dec 9 - London - The midget's rolled into London knowing a win would move them into third but a loss would slide them to fifth in this extremely close season.

Ben Morrison would give Lambton the early lead when he buried a Joe DeSena set up early in the first period. Goalie Steven Taylor would make a huge save minutes later during the penalty kill but London would tie it up on their third power play of the period.

London would take a two goal lead early in the second as Lambton paraded to the sin bin with 22 minutes of penalties. Some great penalty killing by Morrison and a couple of big saves by Taylor kept the Jr. Sting close. With the referee finally noticing there was another team Lambton's Power play unit would get a chance and they didn't disappoint scoring three goals in three minutes. Morrison led the way getting his second of the game when Williams and DeSena got the D running around before DeSena slid him a great pass which he buried with a hard one timer. Two minutes later DeSena would get his third assist of the game when Dylan Brooks set him up, but rather than shoot he saw Brad Campbell sliding in on the back door. A perfect pass was followed by another perfect one timer this time from Campbell to tie the game. Lambton would jump into the lead when Taylor fed the puck up to Williams who fed Keith Arnold, Arnold's slap shot from the point beat the London keeper up high. London answered back with a power play goal of their own followed up by a regular strength goal to take a one goal lead into the flood.

The third would start with Lambton short handed for the first eight minutes but some great penalty killing by four very tired defenseman, Martin, Arnold, McPherson and Brooks kept the game within reach. Unfortunately the Midget's would get no closer as London scored a short handed goal followed by a empty netter as the clock ran out.
This was as entertaining a game as you will ever see as both teams left it all on the ice.
The boys face first place Kitchener Friday night in their first of three games at the Midget showcase in London.

Final: 7-4 London
Saves: Steven Taylor 33, London 31
Penalties: Lambton 38 minutes, London 26 minutes
Notes: DeSena 3 point night
