Lambton Jr. Sting Major Atom Collapse in Komoka
The Lambton Jr. Sting AAA Major Atom team visited
the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs on Wednesday night.
A game they led most of the way turned into a mighty meltdown during the final
5 minutes. The Sting were leading 3-2
with just over five minutes to play only to give up 5 unanswered goals in the
last 5 minutes (including an empty net goal) to lose by a score of 7-3.
The Sting had Power Play goals from Seth Ainsworth and a beautiful coast to coast from Adam Maitland. Tanner Winegard had the other goal for the Sting. Picking up assists were Logan O’Leary-Dilosa, Landon Buckingham and Adam Osler.
The Sting will regroup at practice and will be looking to play a full 3 periods versus Cambridge Saturday at 1:30 at the SSEC.
