Two More Tough Losses
The Lambton Jr. Sting Minor Atom AAA team suffered 2 more losses this past weekend and is currently sitting in 5th place in the West division with a 1-6-2 record.
On Saturday, the team traveled to Goderich to take on the Huron-Perth Lakers. The Jr. Sting were missing 4 regulars in their lineup and came out flat losing 6-0.
On Sunday, the team traveled to Cambridge to take on the Hawkes and put together a better effort. However, the Jr. Sting continued to struggle with getting shots through to their opponent’s net and found themselves down 1-0 after one period of play. Lambton had two power play opportunities in the second and their best chance came from Jake MacLean on a goal mouth scramble. The third period found Lambton in penalty trouble early on. The Hawkes took advantages scoring 2 quick power play goals. Lambton’s lone goal of the weekend was scored by Andrew Lemieux at the 4:27 mark of the 3rd period. Assists on the play were given to Lemieux’s line mates, Jake MacLean and Ryder Nienhuis.
Final score: Lambton 1 Cambridge 3
Lambton has a quiet weekend ahead playing just one game, at home on Sunday, versus the Hamilton Huskies.
