Major Atom, 2015-2016 (Lambton Jr. Sting AAA Hockey )

The Lambton Jr. Sting Major Atoms were surprised before there practice on Wednesday with a visit from none other than the Stanley Cup.  Scotiabank and their district Vice-President Dave Wilson, arranged to have the the Stanley Cup brought in for a suprise visit with the team.

The Lambton Jr. Sting AAA Major Atom hockey team looks to be turning their season around.  Despite some tough luck that saw them winless during a 12 game stretch, the boys have continued to “Work Hard” at practice and games and are seeing the results.  The Sting has a record of 6 wins, 4 losses and a tie over their last 11 games.  Included in that span are 2 road victories against Hamilton and Cambridge and a well-deserved 4-4 tie against Windsor, despite trailing 4-1 entering the third period.

The Lambton Jr. Sting AAA Major Atom captured the Silver Championship at the Rochester AAA Invitational over the weekend with a decisive 6-0 victory over the Buffalo Regals.

The Lambton Jr. Sting AAA Major Atom team played a pair of games over the weekend.  They were able to only garner 1 out of possible 4 points despite outplaying there opponents in both games.  Saturday saw the Jr. Sting tie Brantford 2-2 and lose a tough one on the road to Huron Perth 5-4.

The Lambton Jr. Sting AAA Major Atom team had their home opener versus the Cambridge Hawks on Saturday at the SSEC and skated to an inspired 7-2 victory.  Tanner Winegard led the attack with 2 goals.  Singles went to Aaron Shanks, Adam Maitland, Adam Osler, Ryan Pageau and Garrett Pearce.  Pageau and Pearce each added 2 assists while Ryan Vidler, Landon Buckingham, Jace McGrail  and Evan Morningstar picked up single assists.  Caiden Smit was solid in net for the win.
