Hamilton Tournament and this weekend
Submitted By jclark on Thursday, October 15, 2009
The Lambton Jr Sting Minor Midget's began this past weekends Tim Horton's Invitational with a pounding 7-0 shutout by goaltender Jamie Morreau over the Pittsburgh Predators, but were unable to continue their winning ways losing two of the four games played over the weekend and finding themselves without a second round birth.

In the first game of the weekend (7-0 over Pittsburgh) goal scoring came from Brennan Feasey with 2 and Nathan Mater, Josh Moore, Dylan Cooper and Matt Cimetta all finding single markers. Assists came from Tyler Prong, Spencer Bronzi, Nathan Mater, Mike Gray, Kyle Cutler, Tyler Coleman and Brennan Feasey with 2.     The Minor Midgets faced the Toronto Red Wings in their second game where they suffered a very hard fought 3-2 loss although Hunter Johnson's goaltending was outstanding. Goalscoring for the Jr Sting came from Brennan Feasey and Josh Moore who helped one another out by each assisting on the others goal. Assists also came from Matt Cimetta and Kyle Cutler.     Game three of the tournament was highlighted by the most dramatic victory of the Jr Sting's season thus far. Nathan Mater found a five hole goal on a play from Cody Trowell and Brennan Feasey to win the game 2-1 over the Hamilton Jr Bulldogs with only 2.4 seconds left on the clock. Hunter Johnson had a second stand on his head performance to hold the Bulldogs to their only goal. Nathan Mater also scored the first of the Jr Stings goals this game with assists from Kyler Keating and Spencer Bronzi.     After such a fantastic weekend of hockey however the Minor Midget's were simply out of gas when playing their fourth and seemingly final game losing to the Kingston Jr Frontenacs 4-1.     Come on out and support the Future of Hockey in Lambton as they host their arch rival, the Windsor Jr Spitfires at the RBC Center, Friday night Oct 16th and try to keep their regular season undefeated streak alive. Puck drops at 7:45pm. Please also check us out on our website at lambtonjrsting.ca for gametimes and info. Let's Go Sting!
