Minor Midgets suffer first regular season loss
Submitted By jclark on Thursday, October 29, 2009
Nearly half way through the regular season and the Minor Midget Lambton Jr Sting finally are defeated in the second game of a two game weekend.

Starting their weekend by hosting the Huron Perth Lakers the Minor Midget's added one more game to their winning streak with a dominant 6-3 victory. Jamie Morreau stopped 26 of 29 shots while his teammates filled the net at the other end. Goal scoring came from Josh Moore and Mike Grey each with 2, while Brennan Feasey and Nathan Mater both added single markers. Assisting were Cody Trowell and Tyler Prong each with two and Mike Grey, Dawson Elviage, Tyler Coleman, Spencer Bronzi, Brennan Feasey and Clint Rose each helped with one.

Tuesday night the Jr Sting faced perhaps their biggest challenge of the season thus far traveling to the East Elgin Community Center to go head to head with the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs. Although Hunter Johnson put on a show and was able to turn away 34 shots, five others found their way through, leaving the Minor Midget's with a 5-1 loss. The only Jr Sting goal was scored by Nathan Mater at 5:41 in the first, assisted by Cody Trowell and Tanner Thompson.

An even bigger challenge awaits the Lambton Jr Sting Minor Midgets this Saturday afternoon at 2:30pm at the RBC center, where they will host the defending Alliance Champion London Jr Knights Gold. Come on out and help jump start a new winning streak. GO STING GO!
