Minor Midgets: Three more W's and undefeated streak stands
Submitted By jclark on Thursday, October 22, 2009
After three straight victories this past weekend the Minor Midget Lambton Jr Sting are now holding a 10-0-2 record and, for the moment, solidly securing first place.

The Minor Midgets welcomed long time rival, the Windsor Jr Spitfires, to start their weekend Friday night. Just a good solid effort from one end of the bench to the other and some outstanding goaltending from Hunter Johnson, who made 25 saves on 26 shots, led the Jr Sting to a 5-1 victory. Cody Trowell ended the night with a goal and two assists while other Jr Sting scoring came from Josh Moore, Matt Cimetta, Brennan Feasey and Kyler Keating, all with single markers. Mike Gray had the 2 other assists of the game for the Minor Midgets.

Saturday night the Jr Sting welcomed the Kitchener Jr Rangers for a great back and forth battle to the end, but with 1:47 left on the clock Dan Hachey found a five hole winning goal off a great setup from Josh Moore and Brennan Feasey. Nathan Mater got the empty net goal to make it a 5-3 final. Other Jr Sting scoring came from Josh Moore, Tyler Prong and Mike Gray with assists from Kyle Cutler, Spencer Bronzi, Dan Hachey and Cody Trowell.

Sunday morning the Minor Midgets traveled to Windsor to rematch the Jr Spitfires on their own turf, although once again for the Jr Sting a late third period goal claims the victory. Kyler Keating scored Sunday's winner unassisted with under a minute left in the game and gave the Jr Sting a 4-3 final. Goal scoring also came from Brennan Feasey, Cody Trowell and Dan Hachey. Assisting for the Jr Sting were Nathan Mater, Kyler Keating, Josh Moore, Clint Rose, Mike Gray and Cody Trowell.

The Minor Midgets will host the Huron-Perth Lakers Sat afternoon at 4pm at the RBC Center, come on out and help the Minor Midgets keep their undefeated streak alive!
