Jr. Sting Winless in 7
The Lambton Jr. Sting Minor Atom AAA team lost another game that was within their reach.

On Sunday, October 21, the Minor Atom team hosted the Hamilton Huskies at the RBC Centre. The team came out flat in the first period and never seemed to be able to catch up after falling behind. With the help of goaltender, Blake "Fozzy" Foster, the Jr. Sting only found themselves down 1-0 after the first period of play.

The second period would see the Huskies score 2 powerplay goals and the Sting were within reach, down 3-2 after 2 periods. Austin "Harps" Harper scored both goals in the period. The first was an unassist, end to end rush while his second goal of the period was set up by his wingers, Jake "JMAC" MacLean and Andrew "Little Mario" Lemieux.

The third period saw a flurry of goals from both team but in the end the Huskies bite was just too much for the Sting and they won the game 7-4. Scoring for the Sting in the period were Lemieux with his 10th of the season and MacLean with his 3rd of the season. Assists on the goals were given to Derek "Tugger" Esselment (2), MacLean and Lemieux.

Final Score    Huskies   7          Lambton   4

The coaches would like to also recognize the play of Carson "Franklin" Peer. Eventhough he did not get on the scoresheet, his forecheck caused many turnovers, he rang a shot off the crossbar and was absolutely robbed by the Hamilton goaltender in the third.

The Minor Atoms will try to finally get back in the win column this weekend when they travel to Brantford and Waterloo to take on the 99ers on Saturday and the Wolves on Sunday.

Go Sting Go!!!
